SMRT Trains (SMRT), Singapore’s leading rail operator, and Bombardier Transportation (BT), global mobility solution provider, have signed a 10-year service support contract for servicing BOMBARDIER MOVIA trains running in the North-South and East-West Lines (NSEWL) of Singapore’s metro system. SMRT manages and operates train services on the North-South Line, the East-West Line, the Circle Line, the Thomson-East Coast Line, and the Bukit Panjang Light Rail Transit. MOVIA Metro Trains are designed and manufactured by Bombardier Transportation. These trains use an innovative propulsion system and state-of-the-art wireless technology.
